Paris, December 25

If there is one day when Paris is calm, it is December 25th. Few people, many in the provinces with their loved ones or in warm countries. I have often walked alone on December 25th. A few visitors here and there, garbage collectors and many homeless people.

It was raining lightly this year. No snow. One year, I walked around Paris alone in the snow. It was an extremely pleasant, warm feeling of solitude. It is also a special day, the streets are empty. Few cars and few bikes.

In these moments of calm and serenity, black and white photos capture this unique atmosphere wonderfully. The contrasts between shadows and light highlight the architectural details that we do not always notice on busy days.

Adan – Philippe Cocconi

Philippe Cocconi. Practitioner of aikido, Iaïto, jyu kempo and many other arts. Capable of taking your breath away with one gesture. Invisible to weapons. Fast and honest. Often with a lot of thought in his words. Sometimes unusual ideas. Always willing to share, without fear and without reproach.

The Adan dojo hosted Philippe Cococconi for an Iaïdo course. A Monday evening from memory. Many students, young and old practitioners. Beginners and seniors. Great diversity in the composition of the tatami and always this kindness.

I am passionate about capturing those moments of grace and precision that reveal the precision of each movement. My goal is to capture the mind of every practitioner, whether novice or master, and transform those moments into photographic works of art. Each shot is thought out and considered, like a blow delivered accurately, to immortalize the energy and beauty of the gestures.

I strive not only to document, but also to enhance these moments of intense practice. I am attentive to your needs and ready to immerse myself in the atmosphere of the dojo, the gymnasium, the ring, in order to best convey the passion and discipline of your art. My approach is marked by respect and discretion, letting practitioners express themselves fully in their art, while capturing those fractions of seconds that make up all the magic of the moment.
